Discover Puglia’s Best Beaches

by Voomago

Nestled between the Adriatic and Ionian seas, Puglia offers an array of sandy stretches, rugged coves, and crystal-clear waters that cater to every beach lover's desire. On the Adriatic coast, you’ll find rocky cliffs, white-washed villages, and secluded bays. The iconic town of Polignano a Mare boasts breathtaking beaches beneath limestone cliffs, while on the Ionian side you will find longer stretches of sandy beaches with shallow, calm seas. Don’t miss the Maldives of Salento, near Gallipoli, where charming fishing towns meet vibrant beach clubs and nightlife.

MUST HAVE A CAR TO GET AROUND INDEPENDENTLY

About 30 minutes south of Bari, Polignano a Mare may not have sandy beaches, but it offers stunning spots with diving cliffs and crystal-clear waters for swimming—ideal on calm days but not recommended when the sea is rough. To reach a great spot like Cala Port’alga, drive south on Via Pompeo Sarnelli towards Monopoli. Parking can be challenging near the beach, with limited spaces. A good alternative is to park near the Church of Madonna D’Altomare and take a 10-minute walk to the water.
